Breakbeat, Drum and Bass, and Jungle are new styles of dance music that are expolding all over the world. This new style is created with masterful production by Joey Davis aka Faith Massive. Faith Massive have been compared to secular d'n'b artists such as LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, and even Goldie, but they still have managed to keep a unique sound that no one has matched. Joey Davis is signed to an indie vinyl label which has released his music to wide success on the compilation "Ikon Massive." He is getting wide radio airplay on college stations and rave reviews in press. former band member Jamey Wright (also known as DJ Seven and featured on the first record) has been instrumental in bringing the dance world together through the creation of the www.tastyfresh.com web site which hosts a comprehensive list of dance music and artists worldwide. He has been an influential DJ in the Florida Scene running a club. With nice atmospherics, tough breaks and tight programming, this debut release is a DRUM & BASS epic and makes music history.

Jazzy, uptempo drum 'n' bass is the S.O.P. here. "Proper Things" uses elongated choral sweeps to achieve a yearning quality while the bassline enters intermittently, leaving plenty of elbow room for the expansive keyboard work. "Absolution" brings up some jump-up percussion and a busier bass line. "Your Name" takes the logo side, and takes the listener into grey matter and outer space at the same time. (CG)

The first release by J. Davis is a melodic masterpiece. The A-side is this atmospheric drum 'n' bass cut. The lush background is so soft and dreamily while the vicious beats punch crisp and clean. :Absolution" (the jazz step mix) also deserves your ear's attention. These tracks would be at home on any number of UK labels and this demo is a testament to the wellspring of talent that is waiting to burst out of the US jungle scene. The arrangements are tight and the breaks are as crisp as Corn Flakes before you pour the milk. The drum and bass tracks strike a nice balance between smooth jazz textures and aggressive cut up breaks while the slow breaks affair features an infectious acid line and a nice laid back stoney groove. ...J. Once again J. Davis has locked down some sweet, chilled-out grooves on the Bukem tip. This in fact sounds like it is on Good Looking Records with the plopped/dubbed-out kick and spacey overtones. Great sounds with a nice progression into some tougher sounds and drum loops. Great atmospheric track with subtle danceability. 5/5 (00-Negative).
