Let me take you on a trip into the past of Sonik Boom of Love's Alexander East...

His father, Robert L. East, was known around New York as a producer/songwriter for such groups as Kool and the Gang, Ben E. King, Brook Benton, and other classic R&B greats. Robert instilled some of his musical traits to his son, Alexander. Alexander was part of a hippie, yet artistic family, born in Brooklyn, NY.

Alexander started writing and composing songs at the age of 11. His first instrument that he learned to play was the piano. Alexander had troubles distinguishing what genre of music he wanted to perform, due to the fact that he liked almost every style of music connecting to the pop world. He than taught himself how to play the guitar. So far, Alexander knows how to play over 14 different instruments. Praise God!

At the age of 13, he booked some time in a studio and recorded his first demo tape. Alexander played all the instruments on the tape, and also helped with the process of mastering the project. One of the songs recorded entitled "Rest In Peace" was used in a anti-drug radio promo. The same year, Alexander started to sing and write for his church, but because of the age and ignorance of the congregation, his ideas of praise and worship was dismissed, yet he submitted and joined the choir. Unfortunately, later that year, his sister died of sickle-cell anemia (a blood disease), and the following year, his father died of a heart attack. With the help of God, Alexander continued to go on, even though thoughts of suicide came to his mind during those hard times.

At the age of 18, Alexander moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Instantaneously, he started to produce local bands in the area. Some of the groups that he was involved with was New Nation, Liquid Ernie, Theophilous, Urban Street Level, and Shades of Soul. He also started to remix and produce songs for S.O.S. Records, Underground Construction (Chicago), and Planet East.

When he 23 years old, Alexander decided to put together a group of people that had the same vision as he. This collaboration was named Sonik Boom Of Love. The vision was then, and still is, to plant the seeds of love within the hearts of many.

Sonik Boom of Love produces house/dance music, trying to make a mark in the industry. Alexander is also spinning records (DJ-ing) at a prominent club in Minneapolis, and he also is spinning records at a radio station called Beat Radio, which is a radio station that promotes dance music.
