Wonder In Blue: "Rain And Other Things"

Welcome to the "lost world" of Wonder In Blue. New wave altern boss Brian Hardin and his many musical guests take you on a trip like no other. Now, I wont put up a front and say "well, you know, you must hear this." It's more like this peoples...

A music album of any style is always a new trip, like walkin' in some new place you've never been or a city of lights that you may find a new home in, and even more... take it like a found treasure chest. Your find may be unlike the next person over there, y'know? And in my case with alternative music, I seem to eventually find those lost albums that "everyone" else found like last year!! Some of us are slow right? :) This is the case with Rain And Other Things. I actually was given this album as a gift, and was scared to open it (I'm like that with most alternative albums...chicken at heart)! Upon taking the chance, I jumped right into the music.

First off, "Need" was a trip into exactly how I felt and feel at this point in life. Confused, mad at the world, ready to go to Heaven, angry at all the bigotry that we put upon each other, and then it hit me... "I need to to know You're out there." This opening lyric was me. "I need to hear your voice now, I'm alone." For those into a middle of the road rock sound (half altern/half soft rock) that speaks truth with a message to be heard (and we ain't talkin' preachin'). This is the album for the low of heart, that needs to be cheered up.

Look across the bridge to hear Rain And Other Things.

Need

I need to know You're out there
I need to know You're listening
I need to hear Your voice now
I'm alone

I need You
I need the truth
Will I come through
All that this has come to?
Can You undo
What this is coming to?

I need to feel Your arms around me
I need to know You care
I need to feel You watching
This seems more than I can bear

Hold me in Your Love
Hold me in Your hand
Whisper

Have you ever watched the snow falling down
In the crystal moonlight?
And wondered if there really is a God out there
Watching over your life?
Well I have wondered these things before
As I walked through the valley of sorrow
But I have come to believe
That He is holding tomorrow

If I whisper His name,
I will realize that I'm not alone anymore
He's not to blame for my trouble here
He is holding the flame
That can light my way to happiness
Where all of my sorrow disappears

I could sit in solitary
Under the neon lights
And ponder a million questions
About what is true and what is right
And I could grow so frustrated
Over answers that escape my mind
But I have decided to hold on
To one truth with all my life

Oh Father, Be near me

I could sit alone with you
In the fading sunlight and
Watch the sky turn from purple to grey and
into the blackest night
If there was one thing
I could say to you now
It's let go of all your sorrow
Be free to follow your dreams
It's all in God's hands now

If you whisper His name
You will realize that
You're not alone anymore
He's not to blame
For your sorrow here
He is holding the flame
That can light your way into happiness
Where all your loneliness disappears
